Project Spotlight: A FORTIFIED Roof on Turkey Creek Road

Two-story house with yellow walls, brick accents, fortified roofing, and manicured landscaping on a sunny day.

A Custom Roof on Turkey Creek Road

Nestled in the beautiful Mallard Lakes neighborhood, the residence at 21516 Turkey Creek Road presented a unique opportunity to showcase our expertise in complex roofing systems. This project, completed in May 2025, involved a full roof replacement on a large, 10,242-square-foot surface with 54 distinct facets. The Garcia Roofing team was excited to deliver a durable and aesthetically pleasing solution that enhanced the home’s curb appeal while providing superior protection.

Premium Quality Materials

To ensure a best-in-class result, we partnered with leading manufacturers in the roofing industry. The success of any roofing project hinges on the quality of its materials, which is why we exclusively select products known for their performance and longevity.

For this home, we chose Owens Corning for the shingle portion of the roof. Their TruDefinition® Duration® shingles are known for their resilience and striking appearance. We also worked with Hecker, a trusted name in tile manufacturing, for the concrete ridge components. These partnerships allow us to confidently stand behind our work, knowing we are using materials that meet our high standards.

The Project Scope

Our primary goal was to install a roofing system capable of withstanding the elements for years to come. The project required a detailed and meticulous approach, from initial preparation to the final touches.

Protecting the Foundation

First, we focused on creating a powerful moisture barrier. Our process included:

  • Installing a single layer of high-quality synthetic underlayment across the entire roof deck.
  • Adding a specialized Ice & Water shield underlayment in all valleys and at every roof-to-wall intersection for extra waterproofing.

Installing a High-Performance System

With the foundation secured, our team expertly installed the new roofing system. We used Owens Corning TruDefinition® Duration® shingles in the elegant Black Sable color. An important step of the process was securing each shingle with six nails, achieving a formidable 130 mph wind rating and a Class 3 Impact Rating for hail resistance.

The project also involved a hybrid of shingle and tile elements. We replaced all hip and ridge tiles with new Charcoal-colored concrete V-tiles from Hecker, which we butted together using a natural gray mortar for a clean, seamless look.

The Finishing Details

We installed new black metal drip edges and turtle vents to match the new roof. We also replaced all necessary pipe boots and other penetration flashings while carefully preserving the home’s existing copper elements, which were still in excellent condition. As a finishing touch, we removed and disposed of an old satellite dish. Because the home’s attic is insulated with spray foam, no additional ventilation was required.

The Final Result: Strong, Beautiful Roof

The completed project at 21516 Turkey Creek Road is a testament to what skilled craftsmanship and superior materials can achieve. The combination of Black Sable shingles and Charcoal concrete tiles creates a sophisticated, high-contrast look that elevates the home’s entire exterior. The homeowners now have a beautiful, high-performance roof built to last, providing them with security and peace of mind.
