Project Spotlight: Country Club Drive Slate Roof, Baton Rouge
Garcia was hired to do a full reroofing job on a home on Country Club Drive in Baton Rouge, LA. To begin the project, the existing slate roof was completely removed and properly discarded. We then inspected the decking for damages and made repairs accordingly. We installed new ice and water underlayment directly onto the bare decking to ensure proper adherence.
For this job, we used Greenstone Slate, a beautiful and highly durable slate roof material. The color chosen was Semi-Weathering Gray/Green. Stainless steel nails were used to install the new slate. These nails were chosen for their strength and durability. For a decorative accent, the English clay tiles from the previous roof were removed and reused for the hips and ridges.
Copper accents were also used throughout the roof for added aesthetic value and durability. The back section of the house was re-roofed with standing seam copper panels fabricated in our state-of-the-art shop. We also designed and installed custom copper drip edges, valleys, plumbing stacks, AC and heater stacks, and flashing around the chimney.
